Rantings about the presidential nominees, and reasons why anarchy makes sense as a follower of Jesus.

Monday, March 14, 2016 in Crap Happens, Politics, Uncategorized No Comment

As a life long anarchist who has never voted it is rare for me to rant about politics, but this year I have been having nightmares about the presidential candidates, and the outcomes if some of them are elected. So here is my rant.
In my opinion anarchy is the closest thing to emulating the ideals of Jesus Christ. When it comes to politics (or anything else) man made hierarchy seems to always be corrupt. I believe that is why in the Old Testament Israel was warned about having a King. …

DRYBNZ subscription

Thursday, November 19, 2015 in Art, DRYBNZ, Music No Comment

I have been making music with my friend Joe for the past few years as a band we call DRYBNZ. It has been really fun and healing for me to write words, play some instruments and holler again. We have decided to release our songs as a subscription based program via bandcamp. It is a cross between art patronage and purchasing a product. For all subscribers we have a private FB group that you can be a part of and ask us anything you want. We check it often. We …

Columbus Day depression

Monday, October 12, 2015 in Life & Mind, Repentance, Thoughts 8 Comments

My entire life has been filled with dramatic ups and downs. some would say I am an emotional roller coaster. I have always been me so it has just seemed normal to have a pendulum swinging from moment to moment. Recently I was diagnosed with Bipolar disorder otherwise known as manic depression. The diagnosis made sense and gave clarity to the feelings I have had all my life, and the way I interact with the world around me. I began this letter months ago then put it on hold. I have been afraid to write and speak my mind, but today I will. I think some of this is pertinent to the situation. To my friends who are still at MHC,
Some of you have been making accusations about me and other former members, leaders …

In the business of…..

Wednesday, September 24, 2014 in Church, Uncategorized No Comment

I have heard so many stories of self-proclaimed “Christian” businessmen screwing over non-Christians and blaming it on God. My heart breaks for such misrepresentation of our good God and the news of his gospel.
Bad business
Recently I heard a story from a non-Christian friend who has been a graphic designer for a group of believers for a number of years. He’s been wary about working with these folks namely because he knows they are Christians. He agreed to do some work for them and came to agreement that he would be …

Complicity Repentance

Tuesday, March 18, 2014 in Church, Life & Mind, Mars Hill Church Seattle, Observations, Repentance, Thoughts 30 Comments

So this post was a draft that I accidentally published so I’m finishing it now. I hope it will speak to some of the confusion and things going on in the media in regard to MHC, and my position on things.
My wife and I were devoted to MHC for sixteen years. We love the church, we love the leaders, and we certainly do not want to see MHC fall apart. We do believe it needs to change in some majorly radical structural ways, which we see more clearly now that …
